KIPP DC Frederick Douglass Mural
Designed for the KIPP DC College Preparatory Campus, this mural was created with the help of 20 volunteers and 10 KIPP DC alumni over the course of a one-day service project. A portrait of Frederick Douglass pays homage to the academy's location at the Douglass campus, while DC landmarks occupy a colorful background of hexagonal patterns. This mural was designed by Alex Volkonsky, an alumnus of City Arts' Urban Arts Mentorship Program.
