Share Our Strength Murals, Friendship Public Charter School, SE Academy
Designed around themes of nutritious eating, the message of this mural was inspired by the work of Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to eradicate child hunger in America. Painted by a group of 16 volunteers during Share Our Strength’s annual leadership conference in Washington, DC, the artwork adorns the cafeteria of the Friendship Collegiate Academy. Designed by former City Arts student apprentices Latoya Middleton and Alex Volkonsky, projects such as these serve as both team-building exercises and positive reinforcement for the communities in which they are featured.
