Southeast Tennis and Learning Center Mural

Envisioned as a place to encourage the mental and physical development of District youth, the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center boasts 10 tennis courts, a library and media room, and a computer lab. This mural, commissioned by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, depicts the activities that take place at the center, as well as portraits of some of its high-profile supporters, including Serena and Venus Williams along with Arthur Ashe and Althea Gibson, two accomplished African-American athletes who helped break the color barrier in tennis.
