Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home Mosaics
Funded by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities’ Elders Learning Through the Arts program, this series of five mosaics and three painted panels represents City Arts’ first intergenerational project. Teams of City Arts student apprentices and Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home residents selected imagery and designs that reflected the facility’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood. Students transferred designs to prepared panels, then assisted seniors with the application of paint and glass tile.
