Nannie Helen Burroughs Art Enhancements
In 2008, City Arts will begin installing the mosaics, painted panels, sculptures, and mosaic plazas and columns that 72 DC public school students helped to create over the past two years for the Nannie Helen Burroughs bridge in Northeast DC.
The artworks will transform the east-facing wall of the bridge and a retaining wall that runs along Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, as well as a grassy area adjacent to the bridge's ramp. This project is a partnership with the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the DC Department of Transportation.
Location: Kenilworth Avenue & NHB Avenue, NE, Washington, DC
