Southwest Gateway Mosaics
City Arts has completed a 2,400 square foot mosaic installation by the Southwest Waterfront. Four 300-foot long mosaic sections span the walls of the 12th Street Tunnel where it joins Maine Avenue, SW. This public artwork is seen by thousands of people each day as they commute to work, travel to the restaurants and seafood markets along the Southwest Waterfront, or visit the new baseball stadium. The mosaic is funded by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities' Art in Public Places Program with additional support from the Philip L. Graham Fund.
